God Grew Tired Of Us

Last night, Adam and I watched an excellent documentary entitled, God Grew Tired Of Us. It shared the history and struggle of war torn Sudan and, in particular, followed the story of three Sudanese "Lost Boys" who after escaping Sudan to Kenya found themselves being "relocated" to the United States where they experience for the first time electricity, grocery shopping, and hot showers.

The film was moving and another reminder to both Adam and I of the horrible atrocities that are still occurring in Darfur. If you do the Netflix thing, or even if you don't, you should check it out.

If you are interested in this story and events in Sudan, read "What is the What" by Dave Eggers. It was this years summer reading requirment for Miami freshman and is the story of Sudanese refugees and their journy to America. It is a very interesting and at times a very difficult book.
