There is nothing quite so innocent and magical as a child on Christmas morning. If you can push past a bit of materialism and avoid getting caught up in the spoils, it truly is a window to what is most precious in this world - belief. There is little else like it.

Mac's 1st Birthday
Poor Mac... the third child just doesn't seem to get the spotlight quite like his older siblings. That said, it was awfully nice of the local paparazzi to come out for Mac's 1st birthday celebration. After a recent egg allergy scare he even had to forgo cake on his birthday in favor of chocolate ice cream. He clearly didn't seem to mind.

The Performance
Avery and her best friend Abby have been planning a ballet performance for quite some time now and tonight, after we had a great time and our wonderful dinner with our dear friends the Hitchcocks, the curtains opened for the long awaited performance.
Another Brady Song...
Since releasing his debut smash hit "The Alligator Song" a few months ago, Brady has become a global internet sensation and our cute son has endured the overtures from pre-school girls all over the neighborhood. His sophomore effort, "The Heaven Song" was popular with the Christian and country crowds but nothing made more waves than the controversial "Whiskey Song." The Whiskey tune has been downloaded on iTunes more than videos of PINK spinning from the rafters and even the famous Britney Spears/Madonna kiss at the MTV awards! The youngster has softened his image with his latest release, a Chris Tomlin cover entitled Sing, Sing, Sing!
Lyrics you're supposed to hear:
...with the heavens we will SING SING SING,
grateful that you hear us when we shout your praise,
sing high the name of Jesus.
Lyrics you're supposed to hear:
...with the heavens we will SING SING SING,
grateful that you hear us when we shout your praise,
sing high the name of Jesus.
The Walking Man Walks... again
When Brady was 11 months old almost the exact same scene transpired in our home (and was captured in this blog post in February 2009. What a blessing to see it happen again...

Activism, Heaven & Whiskey...
Mac is quite the intellectual and clearly has a heart for social activism, but when I busted him reading Mom's copy of "Three Cups of Tea" he came after me...
Avery singing James Taylor's song "Humble Yourself"
You got to humble yourself as a little child
There's a way thru the darkest trials,
if you humble yourself as a child.
Brady sings country song, "Everybody wanna go to heaven, but nobody wanna go now. Someday I wanna walk those streets of gold, in my halo..."
So just in case the church songs made you think our children were perfect little angels...
Yes, you heard it right. The words are, "Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey and whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky!" They love this one (of course!). Luckily neither one has sung it at school yet (that we know of) so we're safe so far! Brady's rendition...

Lake Michigan Vacation 2010

This is a link to an album of pictures from our wonderful family vacation in Union Pier on Lake Michigan. Just click the picture.
We had an AMAZING time and were able to spend time with the Wright's, Pentzer's and both Barth families. We realized how blessed we were to how such a great family and to be spoiled enough to have them all together at once was a total blast. The pictures tell only a part of the story but we hope you'll enjoy them. The kids are STILL talking about how much they miss the beach, the big yellow house, Blue Fish and of course... their CUZZIES!!!

Finally...
It goes a little something like this...
"2 little monkeys swinging in the trees
And along came Mr. Alligator
You can't catch me!
And along came Mr. Alligator
Sly as can be... and then SNAP!"
